From the operating theatre to Parliament

In a June 2025 profile, The Gleaner described Dr Alfred Dawes' decision to enter electoral politics after years of medical practice and advocacy. He described an interest in influencing policies affecting communities and families, rather than helping only one patient at a time.

The profile also discussed local sporting programmes and community spaces in St Catherine South Eastern. These were reported priorities during his candidacy, not a list of completed projects.
